Data as a Development Issue
On Friday, January 31, 2020 from 9am – 5pm ET (14:00-22-00 UTC) the Digital Trade and Data Governance Hub (GWU), the Center for Global Development, the Heinrich Böll Foundation of Washington, D.C. and the Institute for International Economic Policy (IIEP GWU) present Data as a Development Issue at the Elliott School of International Affairs in Washington, DC. We are in the early phase of debating how governments should prepare for and manage the growing role of data in their economies and there is a limited consensus on best approaches. The aim of this free conference is to improve our shared understanding of the role of data governance for economic growth and development. The event is sponsored by GW CIBER and will be webcast live by the Internet Society Washington DC Chapter.
