Internet Society Fundamentals aims to develop new community leaders equipped to tell data-driven stories about the Internet Society’s key projects. This will equip members to work with their Chapters to create local awareness, extending the reach of our work for an Internet as a force for good.
In its first year, the program consists of two full weeks of webinars linked to Internet Society projects. Sessions will be held from 12-23 April, 2021.
During each webinar, we will cover the project’s main concepts with a focus on narrative and strategies to approach multiple audiences. In this way, Chapter members can feel empowered to raise awareness through concrete local initiatives that support the development and positioning of the Chapter.
In 2021, Internet Society Fundamentals is open to all Chapter Members* whose Chapters are subscribed to the program. Members who are eligible to participate will receive the registration details by email. Sessions are in English, Spanish and French, and will be held in four time zones. In order to get a Certificate of Completion, each participant must perform a local awareness initiative based on the content and the information shared during the webinars. Initiatives must be arranged locally with Chapter coordinators assigned to the program.

FRANÇAIS – Fondamentaux de l’Internet Society
Les membres de l’Internet Society sont essentiels et d’une importance cruciale pour véhiculer notre message en faveur d’un Internet ouvert, mondialement connecté et sécurisé pour tous.
Les membres apportent énormément de valeur, d’expériences et de connaissances au sein de notre organisation. C’est pour cette raison, en nous inspirant de la formidable expérience du programme de formation des chapitres de 2020 ainsi que des commentaires que nous avons reçus sur des besoins, des obligations et des difficultés spécifiques au contexte de la Covid-19, que nous avons conçu un nouveau programme de formation pour 2021 : Le programme Fondamentaux de l’Internet Society.
Le principal objectif du programme Fondamentaux de l’Internet Society est de former de nouveaux responsables de la communauté maîtrisant les éléments de langage de base relatifs à plusieurs projets mondiaux de l’Internet Society. Cela leur permettra de collaborer avec leurs chapitres respectifs pour mieux sensibiliser au niveau local et pour améliorer la portée de notre travail visant à faire d’Internet une force positive.

Los miembros de Internet Society son vitales y clave a fin de llevar nuestro mensaje de una Internet abierta, conectada a nivel mundial y segura para todas las personas.
Los miembros aportan un gran valor, experiencia y conocimiento a nuestra organización. Por este motivo, y tras la gran experiencia que tuvimos con el programa de capacitación de Capítulos durante 2020, así como los comentarios sobre necesidades, requisitos, desafíos específicos y el contexto de la COVID-19, hemos diseñado un nuevo programa de capacitación para 2021: El Programa Internet Society Fundamentals.
El objetivo principal de Internet Society Fundamentals es desarrollar nuevos líderes comunitarios que estén equipados con las narrativas básicas en torno a una serie de proyectos globales de Internet Society. Esto les permitirá trabajar junto con sus respectivos Capítulos para crear conciencia local y ampliar el alcance de nuestro trabajo por una Internet como una fuerza para el bien.
