  WEBCAST FEB 19 – Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the AI Governance Guidelines Development 

  On Wednesday 19 February, 2025, at 4pm-5:30pm IST (10:30-12:00 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online interactive stakeholder discussion ‘Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the AI Governance Guidelines Development‘. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) constituted the Subcommittee on AI Governance and Guidelines Development on November 9, 2023, to analyse existing regulatory gaps and provide recommendations for developing a comprehensive AI governance framework for India. Subsequently the Report on AI Governance Guidelines Development was released for comments.

  This discussion aims to make the provisions of the report more understandable and relatable to a wider audience and provoke thoughts about the AI Governance framework India needs and to encourage stakeholder(s) to make submissions.

  The event is supported by Internet Society India Delhi Chapter (ISOC Delhi) as a community partner.

  WEBCAST APR 3 – Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the Digital Competition Bill 

  On Wednesday April 4 2023 at 4pm-6pm IST (10:30-12:30 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online interactive stakeholder discussion ‘Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the Digital Competition Bill‘. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has released the draft Digital Competition Bill which is part of the ‘Report of the Committee on Digital Competition Law’ under Annexure IV.

  In that context experts would be deliberating on what should be the contours of the proposed bill to achieve its objectives and effectively balance consumer interest and national security while encouraging competition, innovation and trade. This will be followed by open discussion.

  This event is supported by the Internet Society India Delhi Chapter (ISOC Delhi).

  WEBCAST AUG 2 – Manthan: Impact of Network usage Fees and Selective Blocking 

  On Wednesday 2 August 2023 at 4pm-6pm IST (10:30-12:30 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online interactive stakeholder discussion ‘Manthan: Impact of Network usage Fees and Selective Blocking‘. Telecom Regulator in India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper ‘Regulatory Mechanism for Over-The-Top (OTT) Communication Services, and Selective Banning of OTT Services‘. In that context, experts would be deliberating on the issue of network usage fees, selective banning and their impact, OTT regulation and explore possible alternative solutions to address the issues faced by Telcos. This will be followed by open discussion.

  WEBCAST FEB 23 – Manthan: Competition Regulatory Landscape India needs! 

  On Thursday 23 February 2023 at 4pm-6pm IST (10:30-12:30 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online interactive stakeholder discussion ‘Manthan: Competition Regulatory Landscape India needs!‘. The 53rd Report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance (PSCF), released on 22 December 2022, titled ‘Anti-Competitive Practices in Big Tech’, proposed the creation of a Digital Competition Act (“DCA”). CCAOI is facilitating this stakeholder discussion to bring forth more clarity on the proposed Amendment Bill and DCA and to deliberate on what more is needed to create a competition regulatory landscape in India that effectively balances sustainable competition, consumer interest while encouraging freedom of trade.

  WEBCAST OCT 14 – Demystifying the Indian Telecommunication Bill 2022 

  On Friday 14 October 2022 at 3pm IST (09:30 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online discussion ‘Demystifying the Indian Telecommunication Bill 2022‘. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has released the draft Indian Telecommunication Bill, 2022 for public consultation. The Bill aims to create a comprehensive legal framework governing telecommunication by replacing the existing Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933 and the Telegraph Wires (Unlawful Possession) Act, 1950. The Ministry of Communications had initiated a public consultation in July 2022 on ‘Need for a new legal framework governing Telecommunication in India’ and basis the inputs received have drafted this bill. Comments are invited from stakeholders on the draft by 20 October 2022. The objective of this discussion is to provide participants a better understanding of the draft bill and then encourage stakeholders to make submissions within the deadline.
