WEBCAST APR 3 – Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the Digital Competition Bill

ISOC LIVEOn Wednesday April 4 2023 at 4pm-6pm IST (10:30-12:30 UTC) CCAOI hosts an online interactive stakeholder discussion ‘Manthan: A Stakeholder discussion on the Digital Competition Bill‘. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has released the draft Digital Competition Bill which is part of the ‘Report of the Committee on Digital Competition Law’ under Annexure IV.

In that context experts would be deliberating on what should be the contours of the proposed bill to achieve its objectives and effectively balance consumer interest and national security while encouraging competition, innovation and trade. This will be followed by open discussion.

This event is supported by the Internet Society India Delhi Chapter (ISOC Delhi).

Telecom Regulator in India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper ‘Regulatory Mechanism for Over-The-Top (OTT) Communication Services, and Selective Banning of OTT Services‘. In that context, experts would be deliberating on the issue of network usage fees, selective banning and their impact, OTT regulation and explore possible alternative solutions to address the issues faced by Telcos. This will be followed by open discussion.
