Today Wednesday October 15 2014 from 9:30am-11:30am the Greater Washington DC Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC DC) and the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative will present a panel Should Wireless Technologies Be Regulated Differently?. The 2010 Open Internet Order and its 2014 proposed rules apply a lighter regulatory touch to wireless broadband than to traditional fixed-line technologies. Virginia Tech Engineering Professor Jeffrey Reed, Berkeley Business Professor Michael Katz, and Boston College Law Professor Daniel Lyons will discuss whether wireless technologies should be treated differently. CTIA-Wireless Association President Meredith Atwell Baker will provide introductory remarks. Moderator is Professor Christopher Yoo of the University of Pennsylvania. The event will be webcast live via the Internet Society Livestream Channel.
