12 Streams 2020 #3 – Celebrating NSFnet, both coming and going!
Today, Monday December 28 2020, at 7:00pm EST (00:00 UTC) in the third installment of the Internet Society Livestreaming‘s ‘12 Days of Streams‘ 2020 highlights, we feature two celebrations of the National Science Foundation Network (NSFNET). First we have excerpts 35th Anniversary Celebratory Event on December 8 which marked its founding. Earlier in the year, on April 30 ‘Internet Independence Day‘, a panel marked its demise, which was the moment that the Internet fully transitioned from a government to a private enterprise.
