WEBCAST TODAY: Safe to Trace: Mitigating the Cybersecurity Threats of #ContactTracing @ISCC_Canada @mjdykeman @INQdatalaw @LenaTrudeau @UGroupSocial @caparsons @citizenlab Brendan Dowling @AusintheUS

livestreamOn Tuesday June 9 2020 at from 10:00-12:00 EDT (14:00-16:00 UTC) the Internet Society Canada Chapter (ISCC) hosts an online forum ‘Safe to Trace: Mitigating the Cybersecurity Threats of Contact Tracing‘. Contact tracing has been a critical factor in containing the spread of COVID-19. Tracking down those who might come into contact with a diagnosed individual allows them to quarantine themselves and prevent further spread. Cybersecurity experts have warned of increased threat vectors from contact tracing apps, and civil rights organizations have raised questions over how data collected electronically is used, including privacy, civil liberty, and equity concerns. This multistakeholder online forum will bring together a range of perspectives on getting contact tracing right.
