On 28 July 2026, the Industry Network Technology Council (INTC) hosted a webinar ‘Transitioning to Quantum-Safe cryptography‘.

This third talk in the INTC Quantum Series gave an overview of post-quantum encryption and digital signature primitives recently standardized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to which a lot of governments and organizations are currently transitioning. The session also gave a brief description of additional algorithms that are currently in the pipeline at NIST and talked about what kind of challenges one faces when trying to migrate more complex protocols to quantum-safe.

On 26 February 2026, the IGF Dynamic Coalition on Internet Standards, Security and Safety Coalition (IS3C) and Afnic hosted a webinar ‘The Post-Quantum Cryptography transition. Tackling a huge challenge‘.

One of the main challenges ICT organisations face today is preparing for the transition to the post-quantum era in a coordinated and timely manner. With quantum computing on the horizon, a practical question arises: How do you protect the vital data of your organisation, customers, and society at large from the computing power it will deliver?

Why is this an urgent question? Quantum computing will enable computing power that renders
all existing cryptographic protections obsolete. Although quantum computing is often seen as a
future technology, it may be only one eureka moment away. Plus, hackers are stealing data now
to decrypt later. This makes PQC an urgent topic. It is time for action!
