ISOC.LIVEOn Wednesday 11 May 2023 at 14:00-15:00 UTC, the Internet Society Online Safety Special Interest Group (OS-SIG) presents a webinar ‘How to protect your phone from cyber criminals?‘ All your life is more or less linked to your phone. But, as surprisingly as it may seem, only one smartphone out of two is protected by an antivirus. And not everyone will use a VPN to connect to a public wi-fi through his smartphone.

In this webinar, the Online Safety SIG will review the threats which are floating above smartphone’s users. We will also give some tips to protect your phone (online and offline).

Mais, aussi surprenant que cela puisse paraître, seul un smartphone sur deux est protégé par un antivirus. Et tout le monde n’utilisera pas un VPN pour se connecter à un wi-fi public via son smartphone.

Dans ce webinaire, le Online Safety SIG passera en revue les menaces qui planent au-dessus des utilisateurs de smartphones. Nous donnerons également quelques conseils pour protéger votre téléphone (en ligne et hors ligne).

WEBCAST – Webinar and Roundtable: Understanding the UK Online Safety Bill

livestreamOn Thursday 10 June 2021. at 16:00 BST (15:00 UTC) the Internet Society UK England Chapter hosts a webinar and roundtable ‘Understanding the UK Online Safety Bill‘. On 12 May 2021 the UK Government published the draft Online Safety Bill, calling it a “manifesto commitment to make the UK the safest place in the world to be online while defending free expression.” The Bill contains several proposals including some suggesting that Encryption should be weakened through various methods. This has generated much pushback from UK entities and the Internet Society has drafted an online letter to members of the UK Parliament, co-signed by dozens of organisations, that “End-to-End Encryption keeps us safe”. This letter will be published shortly. This webinar and roundtable will explore the more controversial aspects of the Online Safety Bill, and why there is so much pushback to some of its articles.
