On December 2, 2025, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade held a hearing titled ‘Legislative Solutions to Protect Children and Teens Online‘. The hearing examined nearly 20 bills forming a proposed comprehensive federal framework for youth online safety, including KOSA, COPPA 2.0, age verification, chatbot regulation, app design safeguards, parental controls, and FTC enforcement authorities. A follow up markup session had been announced for December 11, 2025

In this workshop, cybersecurity expert Nicolas Fiumarelli, shared his extensive knowledge on the role of encryption, and provided practical insights into its implementation within the broader online safety landscape. He also discussed global advocacy efforts on its behalf.
