On 7 October 2026, the Finnish Internet Forum convened, in cooperation with the Committee for the Future of the Parliament, in the Annex of the Parliament House in Helsinki.

The main themes of the 2026 forum were digital sovereignty and social media age limits. In addition, the Committee for the Future presented its recent reports related to AI and robotics.

On Wednesday 8 October 2025 at 09:15-14:00 EEST (06:15 – 11:00 UTC) the Finnish Internet Forum will be convened at the Little Parliament building in Helsinki. In this year’s edition, Finnish Internet Forum focuses on resilience, countering cyber harassment, and the WSIS+20 review.

The Finnish Internet Forum is an annual multistakeholder event, set up in 2010 to discuss internet-related issues from a Finnish perspective. The Finnish Internet Forum focuses on the ethics of artificial intelligence and consider alternatives for Twitter, which is subject to upheavals. The Finnish Internet Forum 2011 will be held on October 18th and 19th at Kuntatalo, Helsinki.

The Finnish Government introduced a universal Internet service requirement in July 2010. The first Finnish Internet Forum was held in September 2010, immediately after the 5th IGF in Vilnius.

The event, organized by the Internet Society’s Finland Chapter along with several partners including the Ministries for Foreign Affairs, and Transport and Communications, will take the form of a two-day conference – the first day in English, the second in Finnish. It will be webcast live via the Internet Society Chapters Webcasting Channel.
