livestreamOn Tuesday May 5 2020 at 7pm EDT (23:00 UTC) the Accessibility NYC Meetup hosts an online meetup ‘NYC COVID-19 Response for People with Disabilities‘. During the biggest health crisis in recent memory, proper precautions and accommodations need to be made in order to provide aid to everyone. For people with disabilities this means constant contact with the community, accessible communications and services to address their biggest needs. Two representatives of the NYC Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, Walei Sabry, Digital Accessibility Coordinator, and Jonathan Novick, Outreach Manager, will provide an update on NYC’s COVID-19 response. The meetup will be webcast live via a partnership with the Internet Society Accessibility SIG.

The topic is ‘The ‘Infodemic’ – misinformation and disinformation during COVID​-19‘.

This webinar aims to discuss specific communication challenges countries are facing during the COVID19 crisis, and strategies and tactics which have been deployed to counter disinformation and misinformation. In particular, discussion will focus on what could be possible immediate action that could lead the global response to COVID19. UNDP and UNESCO are strategic partners of this webinar.
