On Thursday 22 July 2021 at 14:00 UTC the Internet Society Foundation will host a webinar ‘The Importance of Internet Measurement: presentation of 3 cases in Africa and the Caribbean‘. After an introduction to the Beyond the Net (BtN) program, Internet Society Chapters of Cameroon, Mali, and Haiti will present their measurement-related BtN projects:
ISOC CAMEROUN (Bertrand Kisito) – ‘Measuring the quality of Internet service provided by the ICT operators to users in Cameroon ‘ (Large grant)
ISOC MALI (Dr. Mamadou Diallo Iam) – ‘Advocacy workshop for the tax exemption of computer equipment’ (Small grant)
ISOC HAÏTI (Sindy Obed) – ‘Key Report on Internet coverage in rural areas and cities in Haiti’ (Large grant)

The Internet Society Zimbabwe Chapter presented their project ‘Greening from the Margins: the Geopolitics of extractive, operational and post-consumer e-waste management’ and the Internet Society Serbia Belgrade Chapter presented their project ‘Air to the people 2.0’.
