When working on the design of gameChange, a VR program to help people with psychosis presenter Indira Knight, a healthcare researcher at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Art, developed a series of participatory design workshops to include people with lived experience of psychosis in the design process. In this workshop she will talk about some of the decisions that were made when designing the workshops, the development of the workshop materials and how they were run. The session will be webcast live via a partnership with the Internet Society Accessibility SIG (A11ySIG).

livestreamOn Monday 1 June 2020, from 2pm-3pm EAT (11:00-12:00 UTC) the African Union Commission, the Internet Society, and the African Telecommunications Union will host the first webinar in the ‘African Internet Resilience‘ series.

This webinar, ‘Internet Resilience in Africa in the context of COVID-19‘ assesses the growing impact of COVID-19 on livelihoods and work in Africa and examines the readiness of the continent’s Internet infrastructure to help mitigate those challenges. The event will discuss the impact of the quick and major changes in the use of the Internet that occurred in the last few months due to COVID-19 on the operations of organizations such as AFRINIC, Internet Service Providers and Cable Operators. It also discusses how the Internet has allowed business continuity during lockdowns and how governments, regulators, operators and the private sector have used the Internet to ease the disruption of our social and economic life. Last but not least, it will discuss how the Internet is being used in the fight against COVID-19. Participation is via Zoom in English and French.
