WEBCAST THU/FRI: Barbados Internet Governance Forum 2017 #igfbb @isocbb

LivestreamOn Thursday – Friday June 22-23 2017 the Barbados Internet Governance Forum 2017 will be held in Cave Hill, Barbados. Hosted jointly by the Internet Society Barbados Chapter, the Barbados Government and its Telecoms Unit, this inaugural national Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will provide Barbadians from all sectors of society with a platform to discuss how they use the Internet and the most pertinent issues affecting them. One of the key outputs from the IGF will be a comprehensive report detailing the critical Internet Governance (IG) issues affecting business, government, civic organizations and ordinary citizens across the island. We also hope to educate citizens about the various processes by which they can become involved to build their knowledge and make valuable contributions to Internet Governance. The event is being webcast live via the Internet Society Livestream Channel and the Internet Society Barbados Chapter Facebook Page.

CaribNOG is a critical forum on the region’s technology landscape comprising two daystechnical discussions that seeks to better position the Caribbean to address critical technology challenges and issues and to collaboratively derive relevant solutions. livestreamToday, Friday February 17 2017 at 10am ET (15:00 UTC), the Internet Society Barbados Chapter will host the launch of an Internet Society report “Unleashing the Internet in the Caribbean: Removing Barriers to Connectivity and Stimulating Better Access in the Region” Commissioned by the Internet Society, this study identifies solutions that promote continued development of the Internet in the Caribbean, specifically with respect to infrastructure and access services, and provides recommendations to help address the region’s unique challenges. Internet Society President & CEO Kathy Brown will be in attendance. The event will be webcast live on the Internet Society Livestream Channel.
