On 29 April 2026  the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) hosted a technical webinar ‘EMEA: Phishing and DNS Abuse – Operational Blindspots‘.

This presentation examined phishing and DNS abuse through real-world attack cases — tracing how actors exploit registration patterns, subdomain infrastructure, and DNS monitoring blind spots to extend the operational life of phishing campaigns. It draws on attacks targeting both legacy TLDs and emerging namespaces, with practical implications for registrars, DNS operators, and combatting threat actors.

SPEAKER
Alexander Urbelis – General Counsel & CISO, ENS Labs, Ltd.

FACILITATOR
Gabriella Schittek – Global Stakeholder Engagement Director – Nordic and Central Europe, ICANN
