On Friday, 9 October 2026 at 08:30 EDT (12:30 UTC), the Internet Society Alumni Network hosts a webinar ‘From Prevention to Education: A Dual Approach to Misinformation‘.
In a hyperconnected world, misinformation spreads rapidly and has serious real-world consequences. Addressing it takes more than fact-checking after the damage is done – it means tackling it at its source. The webinar spotlights the work of the Alethos Initiative, which equips influencers and content creators with the skills to evaluate, verify, and research information before sharing it with their audiences. Drawing on experts in misinformation and disinformation, it explores how combining source-level accountability with audience education can strengthen information integrity and help build a more informed digital ecosystem.
