On August 5, 2025 at 7:30pm-8:30pm EDT (11:30-00:30 UTC) the Accessibility NYC Meetup (A11yNYC) hoste a meetup ‘Making Content Accessible for People with Limited English Proficiency‘. Seasoned accessibility experience designer Irina Morozova explored how thoughtful content and design can reduce barriers for people with limited English proficiency, especially when navigating everyday tasks. Clear language practices, cognitive load reduction,  accessibility techniques from avoiding idioms to optimizing readability and multimodal content, were all discussed.

The meetup was webcast live via a partnership with the Internet Society New York Accessibility SIG.
