On January 23, 2026, the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information (CITI) convened a full-day conference ‘Into the Next Digital Generation: Lessons from Yesterday, Predictions for Tomorrow: A Tribute to the 43 Years of the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information (CITI) and its Director, Prof. Eli Noam’ at Columbia University in NYC. The event, which was followed by a gala dinner, served as a celebration and tribute to the Institute, which will be closing with the retirement of founder, Professor Eli Noam.

CITI was the first research center dedicated to communications economics, management, and policy established at a US management school. Over the past 42 years, CITI has published 75 books and hundreds of articles, hosted nearly one thousand conferences, run several webinar series, and welcomed numerous visiting scholars and interns from around the world.

The conference was webcast via ISOC LIVE, and the dinner speeches recorded.
