WEBCAST FEB 8: A11yVR – Supporting the Speech Disabilities and Differences Community Using VR – Gareth Walkom
On Tuesday March 8 2022 at 08:00 EST (13:00 UTC) the Accessibility VR Meetup hosts ‘Supporting the Speech Disabilities and Differences Community Using VR‘ on Mozilla Hubs. Gareth Walkom is the Founder of withVR, which better prepares people with speech disabilities or differences for real-life speaking situations by utilizing the power of virtual reality. Gareth has had a stutter since the age of six. Since 2015, he has researched how virtual reality can be used to benefit people just like him. His research focused on developing an innovative virtual reality application to observe stuttering behaviors which experimented with exposure therapy, eye behaviors, and other biometric sensors.
The session will be webcast live via a partnership with the Internet Society New York Chapter Accessibility SIG (A11ySIG).
