WEBCAST WEDNESDAY: Tech Worker Resistance w/ @Lizzie_OShea #WhoOwnsTheWorld #PlatformCoop @TheNewSchool @pcc_global

livestreamOn Wednesday February 5 2020, at 6pm EST (23:00 UTC), ISOC.LIVE will webcast Tech Worker Resistance, the third in a series of 14 guest lectures in the Who Owns the World course at the New School in NYC. This course aims to introduce students at The New School, and members of the public, to the cooperative digital economy as a global movement. In Wednesday’s lecture Lizzie O’Shea, author of ‘Future Histories: What Ada Lovelace, Tom Paine and the Paris Commune Can Teach Us about Digital Technology‘ will examine how tech workers – from Silicon Valley to India to Brazil – are using platform coop principles to organize for the benefit of not just themselves but society as a whole. This webcast is made possible via a partnership between the Internet Society New York Chapter (ISOC-NY) and the Institute for the Cooperative Digital Economy (ICDE).
